Prayer ChainPrayer chain for your classroom. Cut strips of paper long enough to fold over and make a chain link. First write the children’s prayer requests on each strip of paper. Then start a chain of the requests, linking them together. Every week you can add to the chain, as new needs are mentioned. Continue to pray each week for each request. When you have answers, put them in chains and form another chain. Hang the chains in a visible place. If you share the room with others, store them in a box and take them out for each class period. After a time (3 to 6 months) start a new chain, or do something different to encourage prayer. Emphasize the need to thank God for answered prayers.

Praise the Lord, my soul;
    all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
    and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
    so that your youth isrenewed like the eagle’s.
Psalm 103:1-5
