A tranquil heart gives life to the flesh,
but envy makes the bones rot. Prov 14:30 ESV
As Thanksgiving is approaching I’ve been thinking of ways to show gratitude. One way is by rejoicing for the blessings of others instead of feeling envious.
While working on illustrating the story for this subject, my assistant Cristina drew a series of hearts. I liked them so much I want to share them with you. I’m sure you will be inspired with ideas on how to use them.
Find them under CLASSROOM HELPS.
Have you seen the new stories I uploaded lately? Very quickly we’re approaching 100 stories. In Spanish I will reach the 350 mark on Thanksgiving week. That is really something to be thankful for.
My mother was a brave woman. In her late twenties she obeyed God’s call to leave Sweden together with Dad (and me) and be a missionary in southern Chile. My testimony story is about what happened in our first home in Chile, when rats had her so worried she could not sleep at night.
The big house where we rented a couple of rooms was made of wood, with wooden boards inside and out. At night the rats ran up and down inside the walls and the ceiling. Mom was very worried about me and my sister, afraid that rats might bite us.
One day, when Mom was sitting writing a letter to my grandmother, a huge rat was looking through a hole in the wall!
When the rat problem was almost unbearable, Mom decided to ask God for help. One night she woke up Dad and asked him to help her pray. It was midnight and he was sleepy. “If you have the faith for it, you pray,” he said, and went back to sleep. Mom applied her faith, and tearfully cried out to God, asking for his help. When she finished praying there was complete silence. God had immediately done away with the rats in answer to her prayer! They never bothered us again!
Where did they go? After that night, the neighbors complained that they had twice as many rats! God relocated the rats because a young missionary had faith in her great and powerful God who answers prayer.

I have also added several new stories under Any-time stories.
Thanks for sharing these stories with the children in your life!
