One of the most important things we can do for our children is pray. Thinking about their school year a few years ago I came up with a heart as a reminder to pray for…
Protection for the eyes | Pray that they keep their eyes fixed on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2).
There are so many things that call for their attention, so many unworthy things to look at.
Protection for the tongue | Pray that the words they speak be pleasing to God (Psalm 19:14). Here is a good prayer for any of us: “Set a guard over my mouth, O LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips” (Psalm 141:3).
Protection for the ears | Pray that they don’t listen to gossip and idle talk but learn to listen to God’s voice so they can make the right choices (James 1:19-21).
Protection for the hands | Pray that they use their hands to faithfully do their work and to show kindness to others. This is applicable to all of us: “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him” (Colossians 3:17).
Protection for the feet | Pray that they keep their feet from every evil path and obey God’s Word, that they don’t listen to misguided advice and go to places that are not pleasing to God (Psalm 119:101, 105).
Protection for the heart | Pray that above all else, they guard their heart, “for it is the wellspring of life” (Proverbs 4:23). In the picture above the heart surrounds the mind, the tongue, the eyes, the ears, the hands and the feet. Let’s pray they have a tender heart towards God.
Here is a good prayer for the heart:
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23,24

My precious Assistant Cristina Alvarez and I have worked hard on giving you a new model. This is special for school children to inspire them to pray for themselves and their friends. We have also included this model specialized for parents and teachers.
Model to put on the wall Prayer for the School Year
For our friends that live in countries where letter-size paper is not the norm, we have made some of the model to print with A4 paper size. This will be marked with A4 as ending to the file names.
Do your best to inspire children to use this tool in their personal prayer Inspire them also to pray for their friends and teachers.
We’re calling this a PRAYER CARD. Here are instructions on how to put it together for durability. Of course, you can just print it and fold it.
